If it was a matter of skill or deftness and not strength, what are we arguing about here?

I said merely that Lanfear's shield was strong enough to cut Rand from the source. That is true enough. The only way to prevent it was by cutting it, which Rand did. But Rand being able to cut the shield doesn't mean the shield would have bounced off him had he done nothing. Which is all I had to say.
