You do know that this was AFTER Lanfear had picked up the bracelet angreal, right? Shannow Send a noteboard - 15/06/2010 08:49:47 PM
It was not at him directly that she struck this time. It was at his link to saidin.
Panic rang the Void like a gong at the first knife-sharp
touch, the Power diminishing as it slid deeper between him and the Source. With Spirit and Fire and Earth he cut at the knife blade; he knew where to find it; he knew where his link was, could feel that first nick.
Her attempted shield vanished, reappeared, returned as fast as he could cut it, but always with that momentary ebbing of saidin, moments when it almost failed, leaving his counterstroke barely enough to foil her attack.
Handling two weaves at once should have been easy-he could handle ten or more-but not when one was a desperate defense against something he could not know was there until it was almost too late.

I rest my case.

Making the entire comparison meaningless, as we don't know how strong her angreal was.

But besides all of that, this was a time when Rand struggled to counter weaves of saidar, and wasn't close to Lews Therin's level of skill and knowledge. Not to mention the fact that he wasn't at his full strength yet, and may well have been growing in strength right up to the time he became one with Lews Therin on Dragonmount in Book 12.

No three women could block him from the Source... - 15/06/2010 06:52:17 PM 2038 Views
I think that is total BS, since the books have proved otherwise more than once... - 15/06/2010 07:22:16 PM 1119 Views
I think he means that it would take three such women to smother him - 15/06/2010 07:45:03 PM 1190 Views
Ahhh... I can kind of agree with that... - 15/06/2010 08:05:46 PM 1260 Views

Well that's a different quote from the one you used before, and this one shows Lanfear not succeedin - 15/06/2010 08:52:00 PM 1052 Views
I never used a quote before. And there's no quote where Lanfear's shield is not succeeding. - 15/06/2010 08:52:28 PM 923 Views

It Rand had half Lews Therin's skill at the time, she would stand no chance..SKILL was her advantage - 15/06/2010 09:08:41 PM 1046 Views
Skill has nothing to do with how strong a person is. - 15/06/2010 09:11:13 PM 1023 Views
So? - 15/06/2010 09:15:01 PM 1020 Views
