I think the only thing we've seen in the books so far that could parallel the loss of his hand was his own demolition of the Choden Kal, and I don't think this is as similar of a parallel as the others listed in the original post. In other words, not likely.

I thought perhaps in the future we might see him losing a faction he needs desperately; i.e. the Aiel, Cadsuane (it would be a stretch), or maybe one of Rand's girls.

Thoughts?
