I'm happy to know Aes Sedai strength is not restricted to a few levels. The whole "Aes Sedai strength ranges from 5/10 to 25) has been quashed completely. That's pretty great.
Second, in response to the average strength debate, I'm again proved right. Most channelers would be in the middle indeed, so the average female strength would indeed be 50, in a scale of 100. Hooray for that as well!
Second, in response to the average strength debate, I'm again proved right. Most channelers would be in the middle indeed, so the average female strength would indeed be 50, in a scale of 100. Hooray for that as well!
If the average woman is on 50, then the average woman must be as strong as Cadsuane. Which means there must be more women at Cadsuane's level than there are at any other level. This is not borne out by the evidence.
Cadsuane is stronger than the average woman, because her strength is remarkable even among people like the Wise One's, who have a bigger sample size to compare from. Melaine's contempt for AS strength seems to indicate the average AS is weaker than the average woman.
Simply put, Caddy is 60-65, Moiraine is around 55, Sheriam around 50. Out in the world, Sheriam is not really remarkable. In the Tower, she is. Which is what I've been saying all along.
Amys says she needs to release the shield because it can't withstand Egwene's strength. Amys is therefore right on the point that she can hold Egwene, but for a limited time. That's in TSR.
When Silviana holds Egwene, it's because she's under the influence of Forkroot.
Cadsuane implies in the latest book that 2 women can hold anybody.
