Traveling becomes less effective when we take into account that the Damane can't link and create large gateways, forcing the Seanchan to rely on their fleet for their transport and invasion needs.
The Seanchan have plenty of Damane to transport whatever troops or supplies they need.
100 Damane opening gateways
10 men through a gateway in a minute per damane
600 men through a gateway in an hour per damane
60 000 men through a gateway in an hour per total damane
... and thats if a gateway can only be large enough for one man at a time. With some larger gateways and a lot of carts plus specially designed wagons that would be longer and narrower, the capacity of the Seanchan to transport anything they wish would be very respectable.
All good things come to those who wait.
