... It probably affected reality. Birgitte's body is actually wholesale creation of matter and physically impossible, so it'd take some significant magic to accomplish, I should think.

The heros bound to the horn have a physical body. Something is physically manifested when the horn is blown. It seems to me then that Brigette had a physical body prior to being kicked out of TAR. As for the creation of matter, I can not recall any time in the series in which the OP has been used to truley create anything, only control energy; though Rands fire sword and Moirane's demonstration to the girls comes close.

Sounds like from this passage we have more "phantom" warriors than physical ones ... at least IMO.
Also if they had physical bodies that means they cold die when the Horn called them forth, and that seems silly!
