LTT said that the reason why Saidin was tainted was because something was needed to touch the DO to seal him.
As I recall, the reason is that saidin DID touch him. And so the hint was that the One Power doesn't HAVE to touch him to seal him. The trick is for the good guys to figure out how to do that.
This means that If the DO wanted, he can taint Saidin/Saidar at will if there is a connection.
Yeah. If there's a connection.
Assuming that the seal is still strong enough to prevent anything from "Touch"ing the DO, and that he can taint anything right now. Couldn't the DO have tainted Sadin & Saidar back in AOL when he had both male and female forsakens and dread lords at his disposal?
The purpose of the seal is to keep HIM from touching the world. Whether that works the other way around is unknown, but I would assume it's likely.
I have no idea why you think he can taint the One Power now. What is that assumption based on?
Also, I don't think that it can be assumed that the DO didn't know he could taint the OP until he was about to be sealed, because, like the creator, he exists out side of time. This means that he would remember from the previous turning of the wheel when he was sealed by the Dragon.
I agree that he knew/knows this.
Long story short, I didnt like the explanation of the taint on saidin.
Okay.

I'm not sure what you're getting at.

No, the DO can't taint the source at will through the Dreadlords.

You are right in not liking it - because I also think it is a crappy explanation.
