That's more the kind of thing Chani would say. I wouldn't go that far, because I don't credit her with that much in the way of guts.
As I said in another thread, I don't think she'd gentle him before TG...but definitely after.
As for you not crediting her with guts, how much guts does one have to have when you have a large number of female channelers backing you up against one man? I don't think for a moment that she'd meet with him alone - if he went to the Tower (or was brought to her, in which case he would be shielded and the shield would not be tied off), she'd have enough of her sycophants in the room to force him to his knees if he dared blink wrong at her or fail to show her "proper" respect. Besides, Egwene's the type who'd like an audience to witness just how easily she can handle Rand.
