Semirhage was evil and did not deserve ANY respect or dignity. She was only terrifying or intimidating to cowards, who let the fear of pain dissuade them from what is right or true. Rand's order to ont torture her, no matter how misguided his reasoning, was the best command he could have given on that subject, becaused it forced Cadsuane to go outside the box and do what hurt Semirhage worst. I wouldn't have needed all that time to think on it, and I bet Egwene would not have either (assuming she could remember her first trip to the Heart of the Stone in Tel'Aran'Rhiod.
I would have needed an eternity, never once it would occur to me that spanking someone in front of people would break them, nothing i have experienced in life lends itself to that. Nor the people i polled.
No way would i think a public spanking would be the thing that hurt semirhage worst, obviously i don't know many people so innured to horror so it's hard to see how they would actually think. Maybe she never got chastised as a kid or something, i thought the secene was wholly unbelievabe and it was a jump the shark moment. After so much build up especially off-screen to undo it with a public spanking it still makes me laugh, not quite a memory sorrow and thorn twist.
Rand what shall you use to defeat Semi? Callandor? Choden Kal? A full Circle? This is the most feared forsaken in history, she is an emotionless unstoppable force, what will we do?
Don't Worry people, the Dragon shall bend her bare-arsed over the bath and chastise her with my slipper, trust me 15 seconds of this and she will crack, see i told you, now where's Demi so i can mock his male pattern baldness and break him too
For me Lame doesn't even start to describe it.
