Elayne's hair is reddish-gold while Aviendha's is reddish RugbyPlayingAshaman Send a noteboard - 06/05/2010 10:35:07 PM
From all the descriptions we've received, Elayne's hair is a combination of blonde and red while Aviendha's has only been described as reddish.

No matter which way you cut it, the woman in the middle has hair closer to a golden shade, while the woman on the left can only be a red-head.

Aviendha: "Strongly muscled but softly curved (TFoH, Ch. 31), Aviendha stands taller than an average woman due to her Aiel blood. Her hair is a dark red hue and shoulder length, growing out from her Maiden's cut. Her eyes are a deep blue green that blaze with fire to match her personality and nature."

Elayne: "Elayne is tall for a woman and very beautiful. She face is a perfect oval framed by mass of sunburst curls. Her lips are full and red. Her eyes are bluer than Rand can believe (TEotW Ch. 40), they are like sapphires. Her skin is smoother than finest silk. Straight back, with supple and long limbs."

Also, I think there is confusion as to how "reddish gold" or "golden hair" tends to look since hues can be such a subjective description, but I will say that it should definitely be lighter in shade and hue than hair described as "dark reddish".

Yeah,I think you're right. The red hair confused me (though Aviendha also doesn't have red hair) *NM* - 06/05/2010 08:49:25 PM 663 Views
Where does it say that, cause she does. Or at least "reddish" (source:encyclopedia wot and me) *NM* - 06/05/2010 09:03:53 PM 414 Views
Really? I thought Aviendha is blond. *NM* - 06/05/2010 09:09:17 PM 325 Views
Encyclopedia wot also describes Elayne as having a "mass of sunburst curls" - 06/05/2010 09:58:55 PM 1033 Views
Yet Aviendha is described as having "dark red hair", which clinches her as the woman on the left *NM* - 06/05/2010 10:35:38 PM 446 Views
Not for me. - 07/05/2010 03:10:44 AM 853 Views
Really?! The woman in the middle has the "sunhair" IMO. *NM* - 21/05/2010 06:10:58 AM 328 Views
Sareitha is from Krypton, where the sun is red. Hence her confusion. *NM* - 22/05/2010 06:39:49 PM 364 Views

I think it may just be artist error, but the hair color for the left woman is too dark to be Elayne. - 06/05/2010 10:37:12 PM 689 Views
Instead of dress I think she got hair color wrong - 06/05/2010 11:00:41 PM 672 Views
