Sharom! Werthead Send a noteboard - 05/09/2009 10:01:23 PM
This cropped up in another discussion on another site.

The Bore was created using the Sharom, the massive floating labratory attached to the university known as the Collam Daan in the city of V'saine during the Age of Legends. The backblast of the creation of the Bore seems to have blown the Sharom to smithereens.

The Sharom, it appears, not only acted as an angreal of some kind, it could also detect fluctuations in the Pattern, and could focus the One Power through the Pattern in a way that otherwise didn't seem possible. After all, in all the thousands of years of the AoL beforehand, the male and female Aes Sedai had never disturbed or touched the Dark One's prison before, even when using vast quantities of the One Power together.

What I am thinking of is that if the Sharom was needed to create the Bore, maybe an analogue would be required to 'fix' it completely as well? Perhaps the Choedan Kal could fulfil this function, especially if Callandor is now safe to use in tandem with them now the taint is gone? But I am left wondering if something else, something related to the Pattern more than the One Power itself, will be necessary to complete the healing process.
