Our great author was very good to us - in style, in sense of humor. Even before the first re-read, the writing starts to make an impression on you...
I once said - to someone who would know it - "eat your nasty fish, Falcon." And there are some choice phrases... I always liked Mat thinking of Hawkwing "before he found his stride." The phrase has slipped out of me sometimes since I read it, but I'd never said it before then. And I still laugh every time I read Mat's line about the Shaido throwing Cairhienen troops "a nameday surprise."
Someone I turned on to the series used "saldaean farmgirl at harvest" in a work manual. I myself try to keep from saying "mind" in the way Tam would ("you use the red one, mind, because the blue doesn't work as well.". I also told a girl who read the books what plant she should use to make her bridal wreath.
As a long-time lurker/recent poster, I figure some folks here might shout "light!" when they stub their toe. What are your favorites? Is there a phrase you use (or have to avoid using) in the real world?
