When Rand went through the columns in Rhuidean he saw the first Maiden BECOME the first Maiden (remember the woman whose children had been taken? She picked up a spear and said "this is my husband now"
but he saw that happen through the eyes of HIS ancestor. He can't be descended from her.
Point of interest: Remember Rand IS descended from that Jenn Aiel man from the age of legends who used to work closely for/with Lanfear when she was still called Mierin. He was lynched for that association once the forsaken were sealed in Shayol Ghul. Interesting coincidence/connection.
