The third has enough moments of lameness to make me not like it overmuch.

the second and third made me angry. I still bought the EE of all three films, but never watched the 2nd or 3rd again, while I seen the first one about 2 times on EE and once in theaters.
The second also has moments of lameness, but considering what an impossible task it is to make a watchable movie out of The Two Towers, I feel they did a rather good job with it on the whole. Of course, I'm one of those people who has seen the EEs more often than the theatrical versions, and considers the EEs to be the real movies.

What, because people are going to buy them on Bluray after already having them on DVD?

I think Blu-Ray &HD is the biggest rip off since peanut butter and jelly got put into jars together.
