I'll miss Dogen - Edit 1

But I'm glad we got a little ninja action scene in. But Dogen was an intriguing character. Alas. Hippie dude was annoying, so no sorrow there.

Meanwhile, I'm thinking that maybe MIB told an Aes Sedai-type truth to Sawyer--the Island doesn't need protecting, it needs a Chief Warden, because it is a prison for MIB. Although that does not in any way explain the original Jacob/MIB conversation. They certainly didn't appear to be have a jailor/jailee relationship.
(And yes, ha! I worked in a random WoT reference! Ha! :smirk

But then, if Dogen and the Temple dwellers were the Wardens, then what was Otherville for? What was Ben's old role vis a vis Dogen (or Dogen's predecessor)?

And where are Sawyer and Jin, anyway? Was it me, or did UnLocke seem unhappy with Kate tagging along? Was waiting for her to tell Claire, "Don't worry, your son's with your mom!" Anyway, I'm guessing she's too much of an unknown, not being on the cave wall list, but nevertheless being important enough for Jacob to track and bring to the island.

I don't get the mass panic and departure of everyone, especially bizarro Cindy. Haven't they been taught over the many years they've lived there NOT to trust the MIB? Are they that gullible and unloyal? Was there some sinister prophecy? Although, I should say that Cindy did not appear to be with UnLocke and the torch-bearers at the end. And, granted, once Sayid killed Dogen, it was all over. Ah well. These Others seem unsatisfying in their lack of conviction.

Was creepy to see Ben afraid of Sayid. That was a first, and seemed unfeigned.
