This is turning into a 'spot-the-differences' game Comet Sedai Send a noteboard - 10/02/2010 04:09:00 PM
Jin is still a control-freak. Locke is still in a wheelchair.
Christian Shepard's body still goes missing.
Claire has still been dumped by her boyfriend.
Claire still has early contractions. Still picks the name Aaron. Kate is still there for her. Is Kate really guilty in this timeframe?
Hurley is still overweight...so perhaps his dad still abandoned him and his mom?

But...
Sun doesn't speak English.
Ethan is now an OB/GYN (of course, he could also be a sleeper Others agent too, like Ben's lawyer)
Aaron adoptive parents have split up, and no one else shows up to claim the baby.
Hurley considers himself 'lucky'.

Meanwhile...I was glad to see Claire, but sad to find out she's a hollowed-out, 'claimed' crazy woman.

The Others still claim that they took the Losties with them as protection against Smokey. When Sayid was close to dying they were terrified and insisted on his importance. And now he is infected with evil? Hmmm. What physical reaction did they expected from a tortured person?

Dogen also says the same happened to Jack's sister, Claire.
Who is the new Rousseau, as it seems. She obviously meant to help Jin, but looked mighty confused when he addressed her with her name. What the heck has she been up to?

I'm guessing something happened to Sayid's poker wound, and/or the smoky dust was...informative...or something. My guess is that Sayid had some role to play, hence Jacob's suggestion of bringing him back to the Temple, but it didn't work. What's extra weird to me is this: the pill is poison. Why make Jack give it to Sayid? Why not just shoot Sayid? Is Sayid immortal-like now? Why not force him to take the pill? Why would Sayid 'trusting' Jack when taking the pill have any effect on the pill's effectiveness?

Unfortunately, if Claire is infected, then she's not so much the new Rousseau as she is the new Rousseau-husband (can't remember his name). Odd that Rousseau came up with the term 'infected', same as the Others. Rousseau's husband (or boyfriend, whichever) tried to kill her when he became 'infected'. Hmph. We'll find out. Too bad Jin wasn't there with Jack to hear Dogan's pronouncement, but of course he wasn't.

EDIT: Also, I had previously assumed that the French people's infection somehow aligned them with the Others' purpose, or perhaps, the Island's purpose. In fact, infection does NOT align you with the Others' purpose, and it might not even align with the Island. It aligns you with Smoke Monster's purpose, which we now know is opposed to what the Others want. Whatever that is.

Anyway, I'm not sure Claire was trying to save Jin so much as she was trying to kill the Others. Jin was already in the trap, and therefore good for questioning. I'm guessing Claire is the one who set the trap of stones.

I'm glad to see Sawyer accept his own bit of responsibility for Juliet's death, but so sad for him.

So few episodes, so many questions.
The chief difficulty Alice found at first was in managing her flamingo.
