attribute it to my low mental capacity...
Anyways, I think it's pretty clear now that Esau IS the smoke monster, and that he will not be easy to kill, if it's even possible. The look on Alpert's face when he saw Esau outside the statue was pricelss - I never thought that character would show fear, even at this juncture.
Whatever was meant to happen to Sayid was different from what Jacob's followers expected. From the moment they went in the temple, they were concerned that the water was not clear. Sayid drowning and dying seemed like it was all part of the plan, but I didn't get a look at the Others' faces when Sayid woke up.
Where is Jack's father's body?
I loved seeing Kate and Claire in the same cab - should be fun to see where thsi goes. She did go back to find her, after all.
Whitmore and Co. have been mysteriously absent from the present story arcs. Any bets on what he's been up to?
Is hurley seeing Jacob part of his craziness/talent? Or is Jacob now a ghost/spirit seeking hurley out?

I dunno. I suspect either Jacob's death or Esau corrupted the fountain.
