Brandon Sanderson posted on his blog that he's agreed to let a Mistborn movie be made.
I'm excited, but the fact that it's a small production company makes me worry, the environment and setting for the Mistborn universe seems like it should require a bigger budget. But it's pretty early, so who knows how this will work?

This is a bit like Paul Jackson's Wingnut Films - a very small company at the time but still the company that actually made the movies - deciding to do LORD OF THE RINGS. They can certainly decide to do it, write the scripts and so forth, but they can only actually make the movies with serious cash from a major studio (in that case, New Line), without which the project goes nowhere.
The only difference between the two is that this small company seems to have bought the movie rights themselves, whilst Jackson's Wingnut company needed to get their big studio partners to shell out for the movie rights (and employing Saul Zaentz, the rights-holder, as a producer) instead. But these Paloppa people will still need big money to make it work.

They'll need to get a bigger company involved.

If done well, it'll give Twilight a proper kick in the teeth. *NM*

I don't think Mistborn would make a very good movie (small spoilers for those who haven't read).
