I think the cast is excellent and the eps are generally really good. I think that if you are looking for it to follow the book series, you're probably having a hard time with it, though for me, though I love the books, I find I'm not bothered by the changes as much as I have been with other series.

I think that they've made a lot of respectable changes that have allowed them to flush out other characters, which I have come to love (Like Lafayette and Hoyt) as well as to no bore the fans of the books by letting them know everything that's going to happen.

Season two as really gone afield from the books but.. I'm enjoying what's happened. I am ready for the Maryann storyline to come to a close, but I'm pleased with the way they've explained her existence and presence in Bon Temps.

Now, Paquin's portrayal of Sookie makes me want to slash her tires sometimes, but I love the rest of the cast. They have done a really great job casting the characters to this point.

Though Sophie Ann in Frenzy is questionable, but we'll see how she is in later seasons.

Like any show it has it's low points, but all and all, I am happy with it.
