It was a bad year for blockbusters though, most of them stunk in fairness.
2012 kept it's head above water, Holmes was better than expected (though i'm not sure it was on the list of blockbusters at the start of the year), and that's about it.
District 9 was probably the best movie i've seen this year, and that was a minor production.
