Thoroughly agree. Especially about Stewie, in this in particular & on the show in general

Another problem I have is that they brought "gay" Stewie into this one. They made it all the way through BH without playing on that, but it was pretty much all Darth Stewie talked about and hinted at. Evil Stewie is always better than 'gay' Stewie and would have suited Darth Stewie much better.
It really seems like they just shrugged and said "He's gay. That's funny." And called it a day. I think evil Stewie makes them work too hard, and I have completely lost all respect for Seth McFarlane, after the way the show has gone down the toilet, and the similar flaws and total lack of originality in his two subsequent shows. It wasn't all bad though. There were some good moments and some good gags in this one. Peter's archnemesis, the Chicken, shows up and while there isn't a fight, you know there is going to be one in the next one.
But even that was spoiled by having Peter point it out. It comes across as either a need to explain the joke or making fun of the obviousness of the set-up. Either way, it only highlights the weakness of the material by needing to make an issue of it. Some of the stuff on Hoth is great.
"Could we talk to someone from the military?"I don't know if my main dislike is just disappointed because I expected too much, but the pacing was very off in this one and about half the jokes or more weren't very funny. But it is the story of Empire told in about 45 minutes, so what can you really expect. I felt the same and I wasn't expecting all that much, having given up on watching the actual show. The only good thing about the show right now, is that it is making the episodes from when they first returned from cancellation look good by comparison.
My predictions for the third one:
- During the battle on Endor, someone is going to bring up all the tired arguments and criticisms of the ridiculous notion of the Ewoks beating the stormtroopers, except not in any way that is organic to the storytelling, but more like they are pausing in the middle of the story to have their uninspired digression.
- Meg will be the Sarlaac, unless they find themselves unable to resist the vagina & sand jokes, in which case they'll probably make her the Rancor or Jabba's pet monkey-thing.
- There will be a rehash of the Peter/Chicken brawls with Han & Boba Fett, OR they will pretend to build up to one of those, have the fight end abruptly and unsatisfyingly and use that to comment on Boba Fett's easy death as if his disproportionate popularity for someone who does almost nothing in the films was the fault of Lucas & co and their failure to make him a fearsome warrior is more evidence of their creative ineptitude.
- Daggermouth will be Admiral Ackbar
- Trish Takanawa will be Lando/Mort's co-pilot

I pretty much agree. It was OK but not great or even above average. *NM*

Yeah, it was okay, but it was always going to be near impossible to be as good as Blue Harvest *NM*
