My favorite SF show of all time (well, maybe second only to BSG) was Bablyon 5, which during it's first season sucked.

But as the series developed, and the actors got comfortable in their roles, and the writers became comfortable as well, the whole show blossomed into one of the most amazing series of any genre on television.

All in all most shows suck majorly during the first season. This show has pulled me in bit by bit to where I'm really looking forward to Friday nights again. Not looking forward to it like I looked forward to SG-1 and SGA but it's getting there. I've got high hope for SGU 1.5. Can't wait til it comes back.
