I answers questions. Palatine Send a noteboard - 04/12/2009 04:26:26 PM
1. What is your favourite classic TV sitcom (by "classic" I generally mean anything before 2000 and the reality TV/medical drama/HBO-ization/cable dilution of the market phenomena)? Why?

M*A*S*H*. First of all, funny. But clever funny, not just simple predictable funny. But it did mix in some of the latter, too. Lots of smart-assery.

2. Who is your favourite classic TV character? (Not necessarily from the same sitcom as above)

I don't have one.

3. Do you like watching re-runs of old TV shows? If so, what are a few you like watching?

Not anymore.

4. Do you own any TV sitcoms on DVD? If so, which ones?

I don't understand the concept of OWNING things like that, unless they are SUPERMEGA-AWESOME. And how many really are that?

5. What decade would you consider the "golden age" of the sitcom?

I've never given any thought to that concept.

6. Laugh tracks - irritating or bearable?

Mostly I don't notice them, because, for me, they've always just been there.

7. What sitcom did you hate the most and why?

I never hated it when I watched it, because I lacked the understanding at the time, but now it's "Three's Company." Every episode was a misunderstanding about sex going on in the apartment. After this happened once or twice, you'd figure someone would get that, but they never did.

8. What character on a TV sitcom irritated you the most and why?

Like above, those who misunderstand things all the time. It may be funny to some, but it just becomes moronic after a while. George Jefferson is a good example of that.

9. Which evil twin or brother/sister did you like best and why?

~shrug~

10. What spinoff do you think was the best? The worst?

Best: Nothing comes to mind. Worst: AfterMash, simply by comparison.

That's it. Switch your main dials to U and then set your UHF dial to 50.

Not unless Giant Robot is on.
