By which I mean, how much did four decades of cinematic disasters help cement the symbolic nature of 9/11?
...that we'd never see disaster movies the same way or even enjoy them. But as the years showed, time heals most wounds. Then again, if I was NYer, I'd probably still be a little antsy about it.
