The problem with the Castle epi. - Edit 1

Castle: if you watched yesterday's episode, did you notice the loose end in the plot? I was disappointed by that - detective shows are all about tying up loose ends, so it's not good when they forget about something.
I'm aware some might call this nitpicking, but not to me. So: the murdered victim ended up being redeemed and it turned out that he hadn't actually had sex with his "fiance," which means no adultery, and he had died trying to save the environment. Good guy all around; the widow gets to feel better.
Except... what about the money? He was presumably making it hand over fist, as he was on two companies' payrolls and was probably being compensated really well for the espionage work. Then the brother-in-law lent him twenty thousand dollars that never got repaid. Where the heck was all that going, if it had no role in the crime? They should've thrown in a twist about the wife having an expensive illness or addiction or something. She seemed a bit nutty anyway. (Wah, my life is so hard, I have no nanny.)
