Definitely stick to one year time frame, say Sept. to Sept. That would give the movies there summer films to get nominated and TV (in the States atleast) will get full seasons of their favorite shows, plus the full summer seasons of shows like Psych, Eureka, etc.

Best Comedy, Drama, Actor, Actress...standard fair. But also some fun ones like Most Pointless Plot, Most ridiculous moment, Biggest Hair, Most cleavage, Reality TV show person I'd most like to punch in the nards...stuff like that.


Movies could be the same, some fun ones:
Biggest Upset
Best Sleeper Hit
Biggest Explosion
Most annoying character
Best Song in Title Sequence
Director Who Should Be Ashamed Of Himself For This Crap.

And so people won't get all huffy about awards for past films, there can be a Lifetime Awards. But make that category have 10-15 selections for people to narrow down. And the Nominations can be any one/movie/tv show/charcter. But make it where they can never be nominated for it again.
