Fringe is back with an average sort of baddie-of-the-week episode. This case was slightly different in that Broyles had a personal stake in it, it being the case that broke his marriage's back. Otherwise it introduced the notion that other nations (namely Russia) have also been meddling in Fringe science, which should not be surprising to anyone. Not much in the way of mythology this week, and certainly nothing on the evil guy whose head has been reattached.

Talking points:

- Having a little of Broyle's backstory was nice, if not overexciting. So if Broyles was married up until 4 years ago, was his "thing" with Nina before/during/or afterwards?

- Astrid is much too nice. "We need licorice"? And for this she went to Quantico?

- Interesting setup for potential conflict with the CIA at the end. I'd never noticed that Broyles had a Senator friend before, was he a new character? Also, had Broyles accepted his ex-wife's offer of dinner, would the CIA guy have remained in the street looking creepy for another 2 hours waiting for Broyles to come out?

- Walter doing Science to Una Furtiva Lagrima was a thing of beauty. Clearly I am the exact target audience for this show.

Broyles is one of my fav's, he's awesome.

This episode was almost to similar to the x-files episode "Space" though. A bit disapointing in that respect but still a good episode.
