Name me a movie that you think is original and I'll name 3 other movies in the last 30 years that did it first, and possibly better.
I thought Equilibrium was a fantastic film, and I recognize that it is a copy of Matrix and Harrison Bergeron and Fahreinheit 451.
That's just one example of a cult favorite film.
To paraphrase a quote I like, every author plagiarizes. The best they can hope for is to do it well.
