Based on ELFSTONES, though, as apparently the movie company thought if they did SWORD New Line would sue them into the stratosphere for copyright infringement, since film companies are more litigious than publishers 
Apparently, the relative disappointment of major recent fantasy movies like THE GOLDEN COMPASS and ERAGON (both made money, just not anywhere near as much as was hoped for) has seen the project moved to the back-burner, probably the same reason the WHEEL OF TIME movie project has gone nowhere. However, since the CHRONICLES OF NARNIA movies have done well, LEGEND OF THE SEEKER is doing okay on TV and there's huge excitement about GAME OF THRONES on HBO, we might see some movement on both those adaptations soon.
