Seems rather silly to me.

I will have to disagree with this article. As has been said above, Heinlein is one of many men who wrote beautiful Science Fiction while being inspired by women and writing strong female characters.
Science Fiction is about the adventure and experience, not about the genders involved. No one gets to be a hero/heroine of Science Fiction if they aren't a combination of smart, brave and adventurous.
