I also absolutly love the show! I live in Canada so I get the joy of both SYTYCD Canada and the regular version. I love both.

I personally think there are more fans than will admit it. I myself am what you would call a big Metal Head. I love Black metal and all things dark like that, will regularly go to shows with my friends dressed in corpse paint and spikes, etc. But for some reason, I LOVE this show! I well remember when my girlfriend revealed one day to some of my "metal" friends that I watch this show with her and like it. Holy crap the torture I endured! Though in the end I said "f#@k it! I don't care what these people think. Dammit, I'm allowed to appreciate beautiful things too!" It just seems to me (and I know a few "closet watchers" that some people are afraid to admit that it is a truly awesome show, but I may just be over analyzing it and over-stating its awesomness.

I think you hit it very well, that it is nice to watch people do/perform something beautiful as opposed to most of the reality shows that simply strive for conflict and stress among its participants.

I hope people on this site who have not watched the show tune, suspend any judgement they may have, and watch; they may be in for a pleasent suprise.
