And yeah, Felicity Jones did a good job with the little bit of character development she was given - though the other characters had to make do with even less. Not that important in a film like this, especially considering there won't be sequels.
I also agree with several people above about the movie striking a good balance for a Star Wars spin-off - keeping references fairly subtle, and even in the music, teasing several times but not actually giving the audience the Imperial March they were waiting for until the closing credits. So all around pretty much a success at what it set out to do.
