I'm at a loss to see how this is a political film about "girl power"

I heard about "manly man" trying to boycott it because of that, which is about as retarded as the feminist who proclaim is as a major victory. It's neither.

Any artist has the right to put their world view into their art but if you shove your politics to hard into my dystopian scfi that it becomes distracting then you have failed and I thought they did it this movie. If you want to make a girl power movie just make another Hunger Games but you don't need girl power in Mad Max.

It merely contains a couple of female characters, with one of them sticking out in complexity and kick-ass-ness, who've had enough of being used as sex toys and break free. How is that political or anything but what any sane person, male or female, would do? I really don't get that complaint.

They consulted with the woman who wrote The Vagina Monologues so there is some basis for it

The Mad Max films have always had strong female characters.
