View original postEgwene was essentially bethrothed to Rand, and lived in a village where people spent basically their entire lives. It's never one event that damns her- these are to indicate a general trend.
But she wasn't officially betrothed. She was a cute girl in a village who assumed she'd marry her friend, a cute guy in a village. They didn't know anything else; that doesn't make it the best choice.
You won't get anywhere with me on this - we will have to agree to disagree. Jordan PURPOSELY presented them as small-town kids, so that he could show how much travel/strife changes a person.
Seriously, Tam left for the war - imagine that he had a little village girl who he was "supposed to" come back to.
View original postStill betrothed to Rand-AND she got pissed when she heard Rand even talked to other women (Like... what's her name, Else Grinwall?)
But not betrothed. Jealousy is normal, as is flirting, especially when one is a teenager. This seems like a very petty thing to worry about.
View original postNot only is she still betrothed to Rand, she was JUST hitting on Perrin.
Still not betrothed to Rand. Not even really dating. Just ... settling. She was just flirting with Perrin. Have you never flirted with a couple of different people, especially within the space of a party?

View original postAgain, so? Why should she stay with them? What's so special about her that she has to take care of a group of young men?
View original postIt's not about a specific event, it's about establishing a trend.
Ah
View original postIn this case, she left three of her childhood friends, who she knew were super-important and in danger, so she could go gain personal power as an Aes Sedai.
And then she earns a position to save/aid all of them several times later.
I'm tired of this.
