How do you think they'll work with AFfC and DwD? They focus on different PoV's throughout each book so I'm wondering if they'll split the books down the middle and merge or keep the separate books running in different seasons. I'm not sure if there's been any speculation on this or if GRRM has said anything.

I'm thinking they might be better off merging halves of the books together because, for some reason, I simply don't trust viewers to understand that their favorite characters will come back next season so they should suffer through if they don't like the people they're following. And let's just hope that season 4 isn't the same quality as AFfC.

EDIT: I probably should have actually checked first...I found this online:

Well… “A Storm of Swords” is too long to fit in a single season. And as readers know, “A Feast for Crows” and “A Dance with Dragons” takes place during roughly the same time frame, so we’ll have to fold those together. The plan, if we’re lucky enough to be given the opportunity to see it through, is to use as many seasons as we need to tell the story as a whole, to do justice to George’s entire opus.

Honestly, I didn't even know they wouldn't finish up SoS. I think I heard that the season will end shortly after the RW. I thought that that was the end of the books too. So...is this where the season actually will end?

As I understand it there will be one episode left after the RW left season.
From what I remember of the book the RW was far from the ending of the novel as well. There will definitely be the whole Tyrion in jail, the Mountain duel and him ultimately facing Tywin for S4. Probably some Dany walking around in the desert and whining, too.

But yeah they will definitely split up the books much more in the future to present seasons that includes all characters. What I find even more interesting is the question how soon they will catch up. Time is running out, the kids are growing up so fast. Bran's actor, for example, got seriously hit by the puberty stick in recent interviews.

You mustn't be afraid to dream a little bigger, darling.
