I mean, I knew there was a girl from Kansas and a lion but that's about it. Just some social osmosis, I never watched any previous movie or read any of the books. Perhaps I would have enjoyed the movie even more had I had more prior knowledge.

But the movie was beautiful and charming and entertaining. I did ponder if the writers wanted to convey the idea that female sexuality leads to wickedness. If Theodora had been less passionate, she'd never have eaten the apple.
