Go back and watch a Connery or even a Roger Moore Bond movie, then watch a Daniel Craig one, then go back to Connery or Moore, and see if you don't prefer the older ones.
In fact, at some point or other I've seen all the James Bond movies except for the Pierce Brosnan ones. And there is certainly a vast difference between the Bond that Craig plays and the Bond that Connery, and especially Moore played. But I feel like they are all simply exploring aspects of the same almost mythological character. While the current Bond might be lacking in the more gentlemanly aspects of Bond, Connery and Moore were constantly being captured, stalked, and doing other such routine things every single movie. So I have trouble thinking of them as ideal Bonds either. And that is likely why the Daniel Craig movies don't bother me as they do you.
