It looks all good. It's closer to the novel, which had much more intricate politics and more steps toward the top than the series covered. They kept key tactics/turning points, and had the political developments unfold off-screen.
VP... I didn't see that coming, it's a good twist. Not knowing that I was really wondering how they could possibly transpose the second book to the US and put the President in the position they put the monarch in the series. If they stay close to the frame of the second novel, it 's likely to focus on getting him impeached, or killed.
It's good they make it frighteningly contemporary, I was wondering if they had fallen in the trap of making it a political Mad Men.
I'll make sure to catch it eventually.
