I just think his movies (maybe starting with Kill Bill. RD, PF and JB still were pretty close to reality) play in their own universe, if you will. One where Hitler can still get shot, where effects of bullets may not be entirely as they are in real life, where every character that needs to be is ridiculousness eloquent, where the reference to an original film is more important than sticking to the rules of realism or current filming techniques. One either likes that or not, I suppose.
