There was no 48 FPS version playing anywhere near me, so I can't comment on the "soap opera" look some people were talking about before hand. I am curious to hear what actual viewers have to say about this. The "regular" 3D was blurry during some pans, as so often, but overall definitely among the better ones since Avatar. Especially some of the long shots were beautifully deep and gorgeous to look at.
i find that *all* films shot in digital (as opposed to the actual film stock) are blurry on panning shots, regardless of 3D or not.
See, I don't think that's true, at least for me (or here?). I watched the Avengers in 2D a few weeks after the 3D premiere I attended and the film was so sharp even in the moving pans, the difference was huge.
But like with 3D, opinions seem to differ from each person you ask and theater they visit.

I wouldn't call it a rash - more like chafing.

I think two words have killed this movie for me: "orc nemesis"

To be fair, it's an orc nemesis from the books.

There was not an orc nemesis in the books

There actually was in Tolkein's mind, it is just contained in a different book. *NM*

If you haven't seen it, you really can't judge. It's not a big deal

I hated it, but I know I will be in the minority.

I think any of those changes need to be viewed with the question, "Did it make a better movie?"

Radagast? Bunny Sledge? Archrival Azog? The whole goblin cavern scene? It's a massacre alright. *NM*
