Happy fandoms and Happy populous - Edit 1

I think often many fandoms are left disappointed by the big studio versions of their favourite story. Other times fans are happy but no one else can follow the story. Avengers is successful in balancing the two. So the positiveness is multiplied.
I work with a lady who is (lets call her) mature and would never see this film by choice but got tricked into it by her son (she thought it was a remake of the 1960s British spy television series)
About 5-10 minutes in she worked out it wasn't and was kind of cranky, by about 30 minutes in she was enjoying it.
At the same time her son (a huge comic fan) was loving it so now they have this shared positive experience of the film that they have not had in the cinema since he was a kid.
