The Extended Editions are far superior to the Theatrical Releases. *NM* patternweaver Send a noteboard - 11/12/2012 03:08:09 PM
I had never seen any of the extended cut movies, so this was new for me, and I had some thoughts I wanted to share. Or opinions rather. Like is it just me, or was the extended cut actually pretty bad?

Not only were the majority of the added scenes completely superfluous, but they also seriously disrupted the movie's pacing, and the set up of some of the best scenes. The council of Elrond scene particularly stands out, and many of the Lothlorien scenes. I hate to say it, but seeing it really made me realize the value of trimming writing. Even if the extended cut was closer to the book.

Did anyone else have the same reaction?
*MySmiley* No! Not the gum drop buttons!
