I want to see a good Superman movie. I really, really do. In theory, Superman is my favourite hero. And All-Star Superman was fantastic. But somehow, his movies always seem so bad.

I don't know why they're making it an origin story. We know Superman's origin, and it's completely unimportant. It's not how Superman got here that matters, but what he chooses to do.

I don't know what the obsession with father figures in Superman movies is about either. And unlike the above, I don't just mean that in that I think it's a bad choice, I literally don't understand this fixation.

And these trailers are so empty. I always understood Superman as being about people.

So much dread.

And I can't help but think of The Lord of the Rings when I listen to those trailers .
