I'm right there next to you....(spoilers for first two episodes of season 5)

It is my hope that it starts to pick up. I'd rather not have this show spiral down into completely lame. Let me list the ways that HBO can save this....
Storylines to ditch:
- Anything remotely touching ware-panthers
- Any reference to Faries. Leave Sookie's powers at telepathy and minor light-flashes
- Anything regarding Terry B. and his marine buddy (with all associated wartime stuff)
- Anything regarding Jessica vs. Rev. Newland
- LaFayette being a witch/wizard or having powers
- Andy B and his love life with Merlott's waitress
Storylines to downplay:
- Terra as a raged out vampire
- Sam & Luna shifter love story with wolf kid
- Jessica-Hoyt-Jason love triangle with associated relationship issues
Storylines to focus on:
- The authority vs Eric/Bill
- Eric/Bill vs Russel
- Sookie getting with Alcide and subsequent fallout from Debbie's murder
By doing those things, HBO can save the season, and ultimately the series from getting too campy/crappy. There are just *far* too many supernaturals. It seems as though almost every person in this back woods town in the deep south has powers. Come on now. If that was the case, then much more odd/wierd things would have been the norm, even if they were unexplained (for example: Sunnydale in the Buffyverse). When looking back at the series, Season 1 was dark, moody, cool, and just great. Since then, its just not as cool, and is getting more popcorn flick? There's nothing so much wrong with that as it is just not what I'm in the mood for.

p.s.- More Pam is good. There can be more Pam in every episode.
