"Endless Eight," is the title.
I just finished the sixth episode, out of a total of eight for that arc. It is like gnawing on aluminum foil. Every episode is more or less exactly the same.
And this isn't hyperbole. It's the same events, 97% the exact. same. dialogue. It's completely redrawn each time, though- sometimes a character will eat a dumpling sitting on a hill, and in the next episode eat it standing under a tree.
It's not even like Groundhog Day, where they remember each day! Every episode starts with them knowing nothing!
Yes, I get it, time loops are repetitive. It is a complete waste of time to watch those episodes. Here's how it went:
First episode: Fun, end-of-summer episode.
Second episode: The same thing, except the main character has deja vu- they figure out it's a time loop about 2/3 through the episode. They barely even try to fix anything, and the day ends.
Third episode: Exact same thing- eventually figure it out, don't really do much to stop it.
Fourth episode: Exact same thing.
Fifth episode: Exact same thing, though the deja vu starts a little earlier. May as well not, though, since nothing happens until the normal "we are in a time loop!" point of the episode.
Sixth episode: Deliberately sets out to be even more tedious- loops several scenes, etc. Exact same thing.
I haven't seen the seventh or eight episodes of this arc yet, but... ugh. Can't wait until it's done.

Yes as I mentioned before this honestly is not the best anime around. This arc especially
"The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya" is exhausting to watch
