Spoilers for those unfamiliar with the rest of the season.
Somehow I imagined the battle to happen during sunlight while reading. I also thought there was something about a huge chain going through the bay, or am I confused here? The wildfire was awesome, though. So was Tyrion, of course. My gf says she won't continue to watch this if he is dead. I'll have to see if she won't make me spoil his fate within this week of waiting. Looks like it'll just be a nasty cross-face scar instead of his nose half-off for him from now on.
I thought it took place in the day too for some reason. And yes, they cut the scene with the chain which is too bad because it was what really devastated Stannis's fleet because they couldn't turn around and flee allowing the city to throw wildfire on them repeatedly. Lol, does she really think Tyrion might be dead? It is probably easier and more affordable to do a giant scar than the effects and time needed to make him look like half his jaw is gone. Kind of like the one prisoner who in the books was missing a nose but in the series was just really ugly and gross looking.
Lena Headey proved to be the perfect Cersei in this for good. She was wonderfully menacing. I really liked the Hound's scenes too, although I understand Cannoli's complaints I didn't find them to be such a big deal.
Was Stannis really leading the attack in the book? I don't remember that somehow.
Don't remember this one but many the guy who plays him is excellent. He has really brought life to Stannis's character.
I was a bit worried they'd kill of Bronn when he got so much screen time before the battle. After all, he does kind of disappear from the books soon and I remember the producers saying some may not survive this even though they did in the books.
From what I remember, yeah, he kinds of just fades in the books. I don't remember if he plays a role in Tyrion's escape or not or if it is just Jaimie and Varys that get him out but I do seem to remember that he just kind of continues on in service to the Lannisters and the City Watch but still remains friends to Tyrion. Could be wrong but I think that is what happens. Somebody can correct me if I am wrong.
I also wonder if Davos' fate will be kept uncertain over the wait for season 3.
Also loved the Rains of Castamere over the end credits.
Can't believe it's only gonna be one more episode before another year of waiting

But wine was the great assassin of both tradition and propriety...

The final version of the episode was apparently significantly rewritten by the producers.

Hey, the chain! Did they mention it at all this year? I thought I recall someone asking me about it

Yeah, but he didn't even come into the equation in the books. He was a mere playing piece

They didn't need the chain with this version of things.

You're right, but I simply saw it as a way to work with their tight budget
