At least by human, I mean, human by mindset and acculturation. The alien thing should be exclusively physiological. That was the real point of him saving Lois in the first Superman movie - it wasn't about his feelings for her, per se, but about his rejection of the dictates of his alien biological father in favor of his human foster father.
"You must not interfere in human history" lost out to "one thing I do know, son, and that is you are here for a reason." Superman is a person who just happens to have aliens in the woodpile. The Krypton thing should be left entirely out of it unless it deals directly with his powers. Hell, the name itself implies a mystery.
