The great news is: They really pulled it off. Marvel delivers nothing less than the best super hero film to date, one of the best action movies in recent history and, to top it all, even the best comedy for years.
Huh. I wasn't planning on watching this since of the connected movies I've only seen Thor, but if this is really better than The Dark Knight I guess I have no choice but to see it.
Would I need to watch the other movies first?
Let's say, it would help to connecting the dots. Thor has the most ties to this film, so if you've seen this one, you're pretty much set.
The second Iron Man just introduces The Black Widow and Nick Fury. And without having seen Captain America you're gonna wonder how a WW2 super soldier came to our time, although they do cover that in a super-short flashback. But I am pretty sure the film is entirely comprehensible and enjoyable without much prior knowledge.
