As it is, I have absolutely no idea. However, though I don't think the Hunger Games are feminist, wouldn't particularly care about it if they were (like ironclad said, it's only annoying if it's preachy, and even then it isn't annoying because it's feminism, but because it's something that is preachy), I have to say that all the people I saw talking and raving about it on facebook were female. Is that a coincidence? Perhaps, but probably not.
Ultimately it hinges on whether or not Katniss is an active character or not. I wasn't able to finish the whole article, because I lost interest in it. But from what I gathered, the writer thought she was as passive as Cinderella, merely responding to events (unsuccessfully), until further events took matters out of her hands. I don't know if that's true or not, and the Cinderella comparison is definitely hyperbole, but I could imagine it being true. It seems like just the sort of thing to keep the main character from making polarizing decisions that would render her a murky gray.

The article is crap serious crap, I skimmed it. Th character is far from passive. And it disturbs me the way the writer of the article dismisses all of her actions and accomplishments. just about the only thing katniss doesn't do is go after other kids with the intent to murder them.
The Hunger Games gets a ... different kind of review.
