The fact that is was a well written female character and if it was a male character the story wouldn't have been that different is what makes it so awesome and yes, feminist. That is what a feminist movie looks like. I'm glad you enjoyed it! That is what feminism is all about.
"(except that less females would have been interested in this)". Do you really think this? Like less "females" were into Harry Potter?

I wouldn't have enjoyed if it had been the preachy "females can be as strong and cool as guys" kinda story. It wasn't.
The fact that it has a female heroine was entirely insignificant for the theme and the story of the film. Yes, it's nice to see a well written young female character. But it could have been a boy as well and not much would have changed (except that less females would have been interested in this).
It was far from being a flawless film (or book, probably) but this (or his racism point, which I don't even get) are hardly points to bring up against it.

The Hunger Games gets a ... different kind of review.

I grant that I haven't read the Hunger Games yet

It's not. That's what shallow idiots say about things where women have power or physical skills *NM*

I can only speak for the film, which was not feminist.

Where do I start?

But that is exactly what feminist means "it could have been a boy just as well"

Why don't you think the Hunger Games are feminist?

Why would I consider it to be femenist?

I just don't consider feminism as something that has to be radical.

Completely agree with your first paragraph

To you "feminist" is a dirty word? To me, it means acceptable. Differences in definitions I think

It's fairly derogatory as a noun, though, have to agree with Vivien on that one.

I don't think Jens was really using it that way, though

Of course he didn't intend it that way, but that's how it sounds.
